Loved the location in the trendy cafe strip - much more authentic than the more touristy area around the dock. Room was comfortable, clean and attractive / the bed fabulous !! Breakfast was an opportunity to chat to Graeme and lyn or to share stories with other guests.
I loved the way the home has been restored to its original design also the friendly family feeling of the place
Very nice rooms. The lounge area was a bonus and we liked that tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and cake were available there.
The bathroom was very small.
The friendly and helpful owners The well maintained and comfortable rooms Great breakfast Overall an excellent experience will stay again and recommend to others
Very welcoming hosts. Lynette and graeme went out of their way to help us. Great position and close to CBD and lots of Restaurants. Public transport nice and handy. Comfortable and relaxing.
Bit more ventalation required in room.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful and the lodge was located within walking distance to most things.
A good selection of continental style breakfast foods and beverages.
The friendly welcome and ongoing service, excellent facilities and cleanliness.
the availability of many facilities. The small touches, the fantastic service & care.
It's was a very lovely place made us feel at home wood stay again and tell our friends as well
It was all of the little extras that you don't usually get when you stay at other hotels/lodges. There was fresh fruit, Champagne and Chocolates in our room. Fresh flowers on our table and a beautiful selction of cooked breakfast products in our kitchen. Complimentary Port and home made slices in the main guest room. Warm smiles and conversation from the owners. Shop a docket fuel vouchers near the exit door, warm rooms and meticulaously clean. Umbrellas for loan during the rainy weather and a great library of books. The owners were happy to discuss the history of the building and offer some very interesting information about the local area.
Everything was perfect and I couldn't fault it.
The building has a lot of character. The interior has been maintained to the era. The position of hotel is great for access to city. The room was clean and appropriately furnished.
The breakfast was very limited. Given that it's winter weather a hot breakfast would be an option. No heating in bathroom consequently towels did not dry properly and were not replaced with dry one.
We liked the hertigage buiding and furniture. The guess lounge withport and cup cakes was a lovely surprise.
We were a little disappointed that there was not a cooked breakfast.
The historic building, heritage furnishings, lovely garden, comfortable lounge with coffee, tea, cake and port were very enjoyable. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent for access to the cbd as well as a number of good restaurants and cafes in easy walking distance.
Close to town centre; cosy cottage; private; well catered.
No place is perfect, but the quibbles that we had were only ever minor, and it would be placing too much emphasis on any one of them to mention them. Some people delight in finding fault, no matter how petty the problem may be. We prefer to focus on the positive. Our own home is lovely, and we are justifiably proud of it. But perfect? Methinks not.
